We love chicken so I am always looking for and thinking about different ways to prepare it! This recipe incorporates some of our favorite flavors...cheese, maple syrup and bacon! What's not to love there!!!
This is a real winner and it's a recipe the whole family will love! It's also pretty quick to put together!
Here is what you will need:
12 strips of bacon
6 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
seasoned salt
black pepper
Cajun seasoning (I use Tony Chachere)
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup good maple syrup
6 slices cheddar cheese
Place the bacon in a large skillet and fry it just until it's done. Don't over cook it, because after you place it back on the chicken at the end, it will be run in the oven for a little bit.
When all of the bacon is cooked, remove to a plate and place the chicken breasts in the remaining bacon drippings in the pan. Sprinkle both sides of the chicken with seasoned salt, black pepper and a little Cajun seasoning. If you don't care for spice, you can skip the Cajun seasoning, but it give it just the right little kick to me! Brown the chicken on both sides. It doesn't have to be done at this point, just browned.
After the chicken is browned, place it in a 9" x 13" baking pan that has been sprayed with nonstick spray. Drizzle each piece with Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce and maple syrup, reserving a little syrup for the end. Cover with foil, and place in a preheated 350 degree oven for 40 minutes.
Remove from oven and spoon some of the pan drippings over each breast. Cover each one with a slice of cheddar cheese and two strips of bacon. Drizzle a little maple syrup on the bacon on each piece. Return to the oven and bake until the cheese melts. This usually takes about 9 - 10 minutes!
/Serve it up and wait for the compliments! It's delicious!
