Carrots are so good for us and they add that pop of color to your plate that makes it appealing. However, sometimes it's hard to get the kiddos to eat things like carrots. This recipe is so yummy the kids will be asking for carrots for dinner and it takes no time at all to prepare.
Here is what you need:
1 bag baby carrots or 1 lb. peeled and sliced carrots
1/4 cup water
3 Tbs. butter
1/4 cup brown sugar
3 Tbs. maple syrup (use the real thing if you have it)
pinch of salt
1/4 tsp. ground ginger
1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
Place all of the ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Turn the heat down to simmer and cover the pan. Cook for about 15 minutes.
Uncover the pan and bring the heat up to about medium and cook until the sauce starts to reduce and become more of a glaze. Be sure to stir during this so they don't burn. This takes about 10 minutes.
That's all there is to it! They are ready to serve!
These are so good with just about any main course!
