Candy Bar Salad!

This "Candy Bar Salad" is more dessert than salad, but in the South we like to call such creamy concoctions 'salads'.   I would say it's to make us feel less guilty about eating such things, but we don't live with a lot of guilt when it comes to food to begin with...lol.

This is a 'salad' that most anyone will eat... the kids will love it as well as the adults.   Some call this "Snicker's Salad", but I actually think you could make it with any type of candy bar you like so we just call it "Candy Bar Salad".    I did use Snickers, because I love Snickers, but I also think Milky Way, Butterfinger, even chopped up Reese's Peanut Butter cups would be great!

Here is what you need:

8 oz. cream cheese, softened
1 (3oz.) pkg. instant vanilla pudding
2 cups cold milk
1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
8 oz. frozen whipped topping
4 medium size apples, unpeeled and diced
20 fun sized candy bars or 4 regular size, chopped in pieces ( I used Snickers, but you can use any kind you like...Milky Way, Butterfinger, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups)

With a mixer beat the cream cheese.  Add the pudding mix, milk and vanilla and beat just until it starts to thicken.

Fold in the whipped cream, apples, and candy bar pieces until it is all mixed together.  Place in the refrigerator and chill for at least 1 -2 hours.   It needs this much time to set up.

  7. Funny...I just ran home on my luch hour to make this. I only had 2 Snickers so I added chopped Dove Choc-Caramel candies and 2 Kudos Snicker bars. My contribution to a cook-out tonight--usually no left-overs.

Thanks for your yummy recipes, I have tried many and they are all good!
