This is such a really easy recipe for homemade dinner rolls. The most difficult part of it is remembering to put the cream cheese out on the counter early to allow it to come to room temperature. They stir together and can be ready in 30 minutes. Here is all you will need:
2 cups self rising flour
1/4 cup butter, softened
1 cup milk
1 8oz. package cream cheese ( has to be at room temperature and do not use light cream cheese)
1 Tbs. sugar
2 tsp. poppy seeds
Cream the butter and cream cheese together until well blended. Add the flour, milk , sugar, and poppy seeds. Spray a 12 cup muffin pan with nonstick baking spray. Spoon the batter into the cups, filling each 2/3 full. Place on the middle rack of a preheated 350 degree oven for 25-30 minutes or until browned on top.
Cream Cheese Poppy Seed Rolls!
Definitely going to try this!!!
ReplyDeleteCan you make them without poppy seeds?
ReplyDeleteYes
DeleteAre the poppy seeds very important to the overall flavour? My husband is military, and though I know it takes a lot of poppy seed to show up on a drug test, we still try to be wary.
ReplyDeleteYOu can leave the poppy seeds out and they are still good.
ReplyDeleteI am going to whip this up this week maybe on Friday.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good recipe!
I never have self raising flour so can you make these with all purpose flour and what else would you need? Thanks they sound so good
ReplyDeleteIf you use all purpose flour, just add 2 tsp. baking powder and 1/4 tsp. salt to them.
